Albums come in all shapes and sizes. Some are merely a collection of songs whilst others might have a theme or tell a story. The Who’s ‘Tommy’ is perhaps the most famous example of the latter but the album that is just a collection of songs also serves to demonstrate the depth and breadth of a group or artist.
The point is that most radio stations simply latch on to the ‘single’ and ignore almost all of the other tracks that an album contains. The result of this is that many people only ever hear these singles and never get exposed to the huge wealth of music they might also like.
